The Gaza Strip is the world’s largest open-air prison. Two million people live in atrocious conditions under Israeli and Egyptian blockade, which includes the land, the air and the sea.
Since 2008, many flotillas of Palestinian solidarity activists from around the world have tried to break the siege, and all but the first were attacked by the Israeli navy.
In May 2010 nine unarmed passengers on board the Mavi Marmara ship were killed by Israeli soldiers using firearms.
A new flotilla is now underway to Gaza, with three boats and about forty passengers from fifteen countries. Among them is a member of the UJFP, a member organization of the EJJP.
The EJJP expresses its support for the right of the people of Gaza for freedom.
We support the flotilla and the immediate ending of the siege.
